Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2026
The Indigenous Garden is a living tribute to Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. Local plantings and cultural interpretation carry the stories and history of this landscape and its First Peoples, offering a place to learn and reflect on what it means to care for Country and its waterways.
Bolin Bolin billabong was one of the most significant meeting places on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. This resource-rich area, shaded by Beyal (River Red Gum), supported abundant Iuk (short-finned eels) among the Djarg (common reed) before their seasonal migration. Many mobs gathered here during iuk season for inter-tribal business, trade and tanderrum ceremony. The Lyrebird, Buln Buln, is a ceremonial totem that mimics the sounds of Country and sings Country back to itself.
